Domestic rice prices today are stable, trading is quiet

Rice prices today, October 30, in the Mekong Delta provinces remained almost unchanged. In many localities, the remaining rice at the end of the crop was low, traders were buying sparingly, causing the market to trade slower than last week.

In An Giang , Dong Thap and Vinh Long, the rice supply is still low, the purchasing demand has decreased, the price of fresh rice is still stable at 5,000 - 6,200 VND/kg depending on the type. Specifically, Dai Thom 8 and OM 18 rice are around 5,500 - 5,800 VND/kg; IR 50404 is at 4,800 - 5,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 continues to be the highest type, reaching 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. In Tay Ninh, traders have asked to buy less, the market is stable, without major fluctuations.

Raw rice and finished product prices remain stable around the old level.

In the domestic market, the price of raw rice for export in An Giang and Dong Thap continued to move sideways. OM 5451 rice remained at 7,950 - 8,150 VND/kg; OM 18 remained at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; CL 555 was stable at around 8,200 VND/kg; IR 504 and OM 380 rice remained at 7,700 - 8,000 VND/kg.

The price of finished rice OM 380 is currently at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, while IR 504 fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. Purchasing warehouses in the area are operating at a moderate level, selecting products, and have not recorded significant price fluctuations.

Agricultural by-product prices remain stable

By-products such as bran and broken rice continued to be stable. IR 504 broken rice fluctuated at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg, while bran fluctuated around 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg. Low supply and weak purchasing power made the market generally quiet, with not many new transactions during the day.

Rice retail and export markets fluctuate slightly

At the traditional markets, retail rice prices remained stable. Nang Nhen rice remained at the highest level of VND28,000/kg, Huong Lai rice at VND22,000/kg, Thai fragrant rice at VND20,000-22,000/kg, and Jasmine rice at VND16,000-18,000/kg. Popular products such as regular white rice, Soc Thuong or Soc Thai remained stable.

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices fluctuated slightly. 5% broken fragrant rice decreased slightly to 415-430 USD/ton; Jasmine rice decreased by 1 USD to 478-482 USD/ton, while 100% broken rice increased by 1 USD to 314-317 USD/ton. Experts predict that prices may fluctuate more strongly in November when supplies from the new crop begin to reach the market.
