Rice price today, May 6: Fresh rice price drops sharply

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,200 - 6,400 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) decreased by 200 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuated between 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.

In many localities today, sources are low, transactions are slow, and prices are stable. In Long An, sources are low, transactions are slow, most of the deposits have been made, and prices are stable. In An Giang and Can Tho, early-cut summer-autumn rice is sparse, transactions continue to be slow, and prices fluctuate. In Kien Giang, summer-autumn rice prices are stable, and transactions are absent.

Similar to rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice fluctuates at 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 7,700 - 7,850 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 7,150 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 2 has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,150 - 7,250 VND/kg; the price of bran fluctuates at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, sources are low, transactions continue to be slow. In An Giang, the market is quiet, rice transactions are slow. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), in terms of quantity, all kinds of rice prices are stable.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), the quantity is small, large warehouses are buying slowly, prices are stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the quantity is sporadic, buying and selling transactions are still slow, prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to the beginning of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 397 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 323 USD/ton.
