Durian prices on December 16th: Musang King maintains the price of 118,000 VND/kg.

Today's durian prices (December 16th) are showing mixed trends. Thai and Ri6 varieties have decreased in price in the Mekong Delta, while Musang King remains stable at its highest level of 118,000 VND/kg.

The durian market on December 16th recorded mixed price movements in key growing regions. While the prices of Thai and Ri6 durians continued to adjust downwards, Musang King durians maintained high and stable prices, reaching a peak of 118,000 VND/kg.

Thai durian and Ri6 durian continue to fall in price.

In the Mekong Delta region (including Tien Giang , Cai Lay, and Dong Thap), the purchase prices of Thai and Ri6 durians continue to decline. The specific prices for each type are as follows:

Musang King and other stable varieties

In contrast to the above trend, Musang King durian maintains its position in the premium segment with an unchanged price:

  • Musang King (Grade A): 114,000 – 118,000 VND/kg
  • Musang King (Grade B): 80,000 – 89,000 VND/kg

Several other durian varieties also recorded relatively stable prices, including:

  • Chuong Bo durian: Grade A ranges from 60,000 to 65,000 VND/kg, Grade B is around 45,000 to 50,000 VND/kg.
  • Six Huu durian: Grade A is purchased at around 78,000 VND/kg, Grade B at around 58,000 VND/kg.

Durian orchards in Lam Dong province face damage after floods.

In Lam Dong province, durian growers are facing the risk of serious damage after the record-breaking floods in late November and early December. According to preliminary statistics from the People's Committee of Cat Tien commune, the floods inundated approximately 206 hectares of durian orchards along the Dong Nai River.

Within the affected area, approximately 65 hectares consist of trees over 6 years old that are in the harvesting stage. Initial estimates of the damage have exceeded 5 billion VND . Local authorities and the Lam Dong provincial agricultural sector are implementing emergency support measures, including providing 30 tons of lime, 300 liters of pesticides, and sending technical staff to guide people in restoring their orchards.
