Gold price today goes down
At around 6:00 a.m. on May 27 (Vietnam time), the spot gold price on the world market was recorded at 3,348 USD/ounce, down 10 USD compared to the opening price the previous day (3,358 USD/ounce).
The decline in gold prices today comes from the decreasing demand for safe-haven assets after US President Donald Trump postponed imposing a 50% tax on imports from the EU until July 9, instead of implementing it from June 1 as previously announced.
The move, which followed talks with the European Commission president, temporarily eased fears of a global trade war.
Despite the decline, gold is still considered one of the most reliable safe-haven assets. With the unstable geopolitical environment and US tariff policies that could lead to global economic risks, gold prices are expected to continue their upward trend in the long term.
In Vietnam, by the end of May 26, the price of SJC gold was listed at 119.2 million VND/tael (selling price), while the price of gold rings reached 114.5 million VND/tael.
