"Prices fell as concerns over oversupply from OPEC+ persisted, while the demand outlook remained uncertain amid ongoing trade tensions. A stronger US dollar also added pressure on crude prices," said LSEG senior analyst Anh Pham.
Oil prices erased gains after a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said China and the United States were not in any consultations or negotiations on tariffs. That contradicted earlier comments from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said on Thursday that trade talks between the U.S. and China were underway.
"Traders now see little chance of further crude price gains in the short term due to continued trade tensions between major global consumers and speculation that OPEC+ could accelerate production increases from June," said Saxo Bank analyst Ole Hansen.
Oil prices fell to a four-year low earlier this month after tariffs stoked investor concerns about global demand and triggered a sell-off in financial markets. While the risk of a weakening economy will erode demand, supply could increase.
Reuters reported earlier this week that some OPEC+ members have suggested the group accelerate its oil output increase for a second consecutive month in June.
An end to the conflict in Ukraine could also boost supplies if it allows more Russian oil to reach global markets. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with CBS News that the United States and Russia are on the right track to ending the conflict in Ukraine, but some specific elements of the deal have yet to be agreed upon.

Domestic retail gasoline prices on April 26, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on April 24 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND740/liter, to VND19,238/liter; RON 95 gasoline increased by VND782/liter, to VND19,638/liter.
Similarly, the price of diesel 0.05S: Increased by 487 VND/liter, to 17,520 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 531 VND/liter, to 17,715 VND/liter; mazut 180CST 3.5S increased by 564 VND/kg, to 16,524 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and mazut oil.
Thus, from the beginning of 2025 to now, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 17 adjustment sessions, including 7 decrease sessions, 7 increase sessions and 3 opposite sessions.
