Mr. Tran Thanh Nga - Chairman of Dai Dong Commune People's Committee informed that by nearly 2:00 p.m. on July 24, the entire herd of 23 cows of 17 households in Phu Hau and Phuong Son hamlets (old Dong Van commune) was successfully rescued.

The plan to use boats to pull cows across the river was effectively implemented. Specifically, 4 boats were mobilized, each boat led a cow. The cows were tied with a rope to the bow, the person sitting on the boat pulled gently to make the cows swim along. Thanks to perseverance and smooth coordination, the entire herd of cows was brought to shore safely.
“If the rescue was not timely, the economic damage to the people would have been huge. Fortunately, all the cows were saved, and people and vehicles were safe.”

Previously, on the afternoon of July 23, people in Phu Hau and Phuong Son hamlets (formerly Dong Van commune, now Dai Dong commune) brought their cows to the Lam River to graze. However, due to the impact of heavy rain, hydroelectric plants releasing floodwaters, and the sudden rise in river water, the cows were isolated in the middle of the river, unable to return.
Immediately after receiving the news, Dai Dong commune authorities urgently mobilized forces and coordinated with local people to find a rescue plan.

The incident once again shows the sense of responsibility and prompt intervention of local authorities in responding to natural disasters and protecting people's property./.
