Capital Literature and Arts Award 2024

(CLO) The closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the 2024 Capital Literature and Arts Awards will be held at the Au Co Arts Center this coming December.

This information was announced by People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem, Chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, at the event announcing the project "Capital Literature and Arts Awards and Art Festival introducing award-winning works", on the morning of October 23.

Accordingly, from November 5 to 30, the Art Council of 9 professional associations will select 2 preliminary and final rounds for works participating in the Capital Literature and Arts Award 2024. The closing and award ceremony will be held at the Au Co Art Center (Hanoi) in December 2024.

It is expected that 28 works will be awarded prizes, including literature (4 prizes), music (3 prizes), theater (3 prizes), fine arts (3 prizes), art photography (3 prizes), dance (3 prizes), folk arts (3 prizes), cinema (3 prizes), and architecture (3 prizes).

Along with selecting outstanding works for awards, the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association cooperates with specialized associations to organize an art festival to introduce award-winning works.

At this event, there will be activities such as organizing performances of songs, stage excerpts, dance works, screening of documentaries; organizing exhibitions of photography, fine arts and literary works, folk art research, etc.

The Capital Literature and Arts Award is given every two years to members of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association. The award aims to honor the best works of 9 types of literature and arts, including: Literature, Folk Arts, Fine Arts, Photography, Theater, Cinema, Music, Dance, and Architecture.

Works participating in the award are usually works and projects of all genres (composition, research and compilation, critical theory, ... that have been popularized, published or performed within the last 2 years before each award period), within the professional review and recommendation authority of 9 specialized Associations of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association.

These are works and projects with themes about the land and people of the thousand-year-old capital, with priority given to the following topics: History of building and defending the country, revolutionary movements, resistance wars to save the country, wars to defend the Fatherland and national cultural traditions, the renovation process in building and defending the country; teenagers, children, young intellectuals; ethnic minorities; praising and honoring positive factors and exemplary people in society.

In 2024, the time for works selected for consideration is from November 1, 2022 to November 1, 2024.
