Kon Tum Provincial Police Director Retires

On June 5, Kon Tum Provincial Police announced that the unit had just announced the decision of the Ministry of Public Security on allowing Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat, Director of Kon Tum Provincial Police, to retire early according to his personal wishes and to implement the Central Government's policies on personnel organization.

Previously, Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat submitted a request to retire early, waiting to reach the retirement age as prescribed. After careful consideration, the Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee and the Central Public Security Party Committee unanimously approved this request, and at the same time sent a written report, requesting the Ministry of Public Security to make an official decision.

After Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat officially retired, the Ministry of Public Security assigned Colonel Tran Thi Thu Phuoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of Kon Tum Provincial Police, to be in charge of operating the unit during the period when Kon Tum province prepared to merge according to the central government's general plan.

Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat was born in 1965, in Phuoc Hiep Commune, Tuy Phuoc District, Binh Dinh Province. During his career, Colonel Nhat has devoted nearly 42 years to the People's Public Security Force, including more than a decade in a key leadership role in the Kon Tum Provincial Police. In 2020, he was appointed by the Minister of Public Security as Director of the Kon Tum Provincial Police.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy, Standing Deputy Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee, said that Colonel Nguyen Hong Nhat's resignation to wait for retirement age demonstrates the political mettle, sense of responsibility, exemplary and pioneering spirit of cadres and party members in general and the head of the provincial police force in particular.

According to Mr. Tuy, during his tenure as the leader of the Provincial Police, Colonel Nhat was known as a dedicated and close leader, making many important contributions to ensuring security and order, and building an increasingly strong police force in the locality. Thanks to his outstanding efforts and achievements, he was honored to receive many noble awards, especially the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal awarded by the President, along with many other noble orders and medals.
