According to observations, from early afternoon, Hanoi streets began to be congested, making it difficult for people to move around.

In the Truong Chinh street area towards the southern gateway from about 4pm, traffic is heavy and vehicles move slowly.

The overpass area at Giai Phong - Truong Chinh intersection at 4:00 p.m. was also crowded with vehicles heading to Nuoc Ngam bus station.

The sudden increase in traffic on the afternoon of the 25th of Tet caused traffic jams on many roads.

People in provinces surrounding Hanoi such as Ha Nam and Nam Dinh ride motorbikes along National Highway 1 (old) to return to their hometowns for Tet, carrying a lot of belongings.

People move slowly on Giai Phong Street at 5:00 p.m.

A line of vehicles left the capital.

During afternoon rush hour, Ngoc Hoi street area is jammed, vehicles have to wait for 6 red lights to get through the intersection.

Traffic police and public order police constantly divert traffic to avoid conflicts from all directions.

Traffic congestion also occurred at the entrance to the Phap Van - Cau Gie highway.

Today and tomorrow are peak times for people returning to their hometowns, so it is predicted that many roads will be crowded and prone to traffic jams due to heavy traffic volume.

This year's Lunar New Year holiday lasts 9 days, from January 25 to February 2.
