Regarding the incident, on the afternoon of April 2, Pleiku City Police, Gia Lai Province are investigating a serious accident that left 2 people dead and 3 seriously injured.
Accordingly, at noon of the same day, driver Nguyen Xuan Dong (born in 1971) was driving a sleeper bus with license plate 47B - 022.30 on the Dak Lak - Hanoi route on National Highway 14. When he reached Chi Lang ward, Pleiku city (Gia Lai province), he crashed into the back of a stone truck with license plate 81C - 187.87 going from La Son street to National Highway 14. Then, the bus with license plate 47B - 022.30 lost control and crashed into a house.
At the scene, the passenger bus was located inside a house. About 20 meters away, a truck carrying rocks was lying across Highway 14. At the time of the accident, there were 24 passengers and 4 crew members on the bus.
The accident killed driver Nguyen Xuan Dong and a passenger in the driver's seat on the spot, three others were seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital, and many others suffered minor injuries. After the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Nhat Toan, Chief of Pleiku City Police, was present at the scene to direct the rescue of the victims and investigate the cause of the incident.
