
On the morning of September 22, in Ho Chi Minh City, Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and Engineering Team No. 4 held a sending-off ceremony for officers and soldiers to carry out the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the South Sudan Mission and the Abyei region.

This is the first time these two units have made their debut, replacing Vietnamese forces that have completed their missions at the two missions. All expressed pride in participating in this mission.

Captain Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang - Rehabilitation Technician, Department of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases - is one of 13 female soldiers of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7. This is the second time Ms. Hang has joined the "Blue Beret" force, with more confidence and experience. However, besides the joy and honor, she cannot hide her anxiety when she has to be away from her son once again.

At the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien - Deputy Minister of National Defense - presented the President's decision and the national flag to Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and Engineering Team No. 4.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien affirmed: "The training for Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 is carried out closely to reality, in coordination with international partners in foreign languages and expertise such as emergency, medical transport, and International Humanitarian Law."
The General said that equipment and supplies have been fully prepared. The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, together with the United Nations and Australia, have completed entry and transportation procedures for 63 officers and staff. The entire force has been fully vaccinated and is ready to go.

The 4th Engineer Team, consisting of 203 personnel (184 active, 19 reserve), replaced the 3rd Engineer Team at the Abyei Mission. The force has completed specialized, logistical, technical, and language training. The transportation of goods, equipment, and deployment procedures are closely coordinated with the United Nations, Australia, and Ethiopian Airlines. Of the 184 active personnel, 17 are women, all of whom are ready to perform their duties.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and representatives of the United Nations and embassies of countries in Vietnam went to the airport to see off the blue beret soldiers.

Military medical staff took the opportunity to save memories with relatives and colleagues before the plane took off.

Major Nguyen Van Thang - doctor of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 - expressed his emotions before leaving. He said he was honored to continue to participate in the UN peacekeeping force. His wife - doctor Nguyen Thi Cam Anh, Military Hospital 17 - always supported and encouraged her husband to complete his mission. In the photo, Mr. Thang's little girl was reluctant and reluctant to see her father off to his international mission.

Standing near Mr. Thang and his daughter were Mr. Le Van Thang (Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City) and his daughter, Captain Le Trung Kien. The 70-year-old father expressed his excitement and pride when he saw his son off on an international mission for the second time.
Captain Le Trung Kien said that he and his teammates have undergone 9 months of training. They are determined to successfully complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army to contribute to spreading the good qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the new era to international friends.

The female green beret soldier lingered in the arms of friends and relatives.

The little daughter hugged Lieutenant Son tightly with the message: "I wish you good health and success in your mission, Dad."

Despite the rain, the families and relatives of the blue beret soldiers still stayed together, chatting and sharing before departure.

In this deployment, 63 members of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 (mobilized from Military Regions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, Army Corps 34, Military Hospital 175, Military Central Hospital 108, Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and several other units) will replace Level 2 Field Hospital No. 6.
Engineer Team No. 4 has 184 officers and employees - including 179 new soldiers and 5 soldiers of Engineer Team No. 3 (mobilized from the Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, Army Corps 12, Engineering, Special Forces, Communications, Vietnam Peacekeeping Department and a number of agencies and units in the entire army).
