Sharing about the process of editing and publishing the book, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, said that the preparation of the book took place over a year, with a process of carefully collecting documents, organizing the manuscript, editing and publishing, demonstrating a spirit of serious coordination and responsibility. The book has received comments from the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Minister of Public Security.

With a capacity of 600 pages, the book selects 39 important articles, speeches, letters and instructions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the People's Public Security force through many periods and in many working positions, vividly reflecting reality, while demonstrating the consistent theoretical thinking, strategic vision and sentiments of the comrade towards the task of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.

The book also points out the limitations and shortcomings in the work of protecting national security, organizing the apparatus and building the People's Public Security force, and at the same time proposing practical solutions, suitable to the requirements of the tasks in the context of rapid and complicated developments in the international and domestic context.

To widely spread the value of the book, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security requested that Party committees and police commanders at all levels pay attention to organizing propaganda and disseminating the content to the entire force; at the same time, encourage research institutions to develop police work theories on the basis of the book, contributing to strongly spreading it in the political system and the whole society, promoting its value for the cause of protecting security, order, building and defending the Fatherland.
