Request Shopee to remove information about unlicensed weight loss foods

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health requested Shopee Company Limited to urgently stop trading and remove information about the functional food product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss belly fat reduction" which is not licensed for circulation.

Specifically, the Food Safety Department said that through post-inspection, the Department discovered that the product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss and belly fat reduction" was being advertised and sold on the Shopee platform.

This is a product that the Food Safety Department did not issue a Certificate of Acceptance of Product Declaration Registration No. 5438/2024/DKSP dated July 12, 2024. This product belongs to HKK Trading Company Limited, located on the 7th floor, No. 69, Nguyen Huy Quang Street, O Cho Dua Ward, Old Dong Da District, Hanoi City.

To strengthen the management of functional food business on e-commerce platforms, the Food Safety Department requested Shopee Company Limited to stop business and immediately remove information about the product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss belly fat reduction".

At the same time, urgently review the business of functional food products; only trade products that have been granted a Certificate of Product Declaration Registration by a competent state management agency or have been announced on the Food Safety Data Information System in accordance with regulations.

The Food Safety Department also requested Shopee Company Limited to report the results in writing to the Food Safety Department before November 17. The Department also reminded Shopee to seriously implement the relevant documents issued by the Department in 2024 and 2025 related to the management of functional foods on the e-commerce platform.

At the same time, the Food Safety Department has also transferred information to state management agencies for coordination in handling according to authority.

The Food Safety Department recommends that consumers do not buy or use the product "MINAMI 12kg weight loss belly fat reduction" and report to the nearest authorities if they detect any violations of food safety.
