Contribute to changing the mindset and working methods of members and women in border areas

On the afternoon of May 27, the Ha Tinh Border Guard Command and the Provincial Women's Union jointly held a conference to summarize the implementation of the Program "Accompanying women in border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025.

Since the beginning of 2021, the Women's Union at all levels and the Ha Tinh Border Guard have focused on mobilizing, calling for, and donating resources to implement social security, charity, and humanitarian policies for women in the border areas. Unions at all levels across the province have mobilized support for 517 livelihood models, 12,582 breeding chickens, 18 breeding calves, 10,650 seedlings, 144 civil works, 25 shelters, 4 computers, 6,655 gifts, bicycles, water filters, smokeless stoves, etc. with a total value of over 10 billion VND; providing many medical supplies and food to support women in the COVID-19 epidemic area, etc.

In addition to the supported resources, members and women are also trained in techniques and guided on how to raise livestock, grow crops, and develop the economy . Up to now, most of the cow and chicken raising models have brought about economic efficiency, contributing to helping members and women in border areas raise awareness, change their thinking and working methods, develop the economy, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and improve their lives.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Phan Tan Linh highly appreciated the spread of the program "Accompanying women in the border areas".

Propaganda work to improve knowledge and effectively implement with 842 sessions for 23,720 participants. The forms of propaganda are implemented flexibly and diversely such as: oral propaganda, through member meetings, mass media and loudspeaker systems, fanpages, Facebook, Zalo. Members and women in border areas are increasingly aware of territorial sovereignty, national border security, actively participating in border protection activities, denouncing crimes.

The President of the Women's Union of Huong Khe district presented a paper on improving union work in the locality.

The associations at all levels have established and maintained effective activities of various types of clubs, such as the "Shield" club in Son Hong commune; the "Bright spot of the border area" club in Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district; newly established and maintained the activities of 17 "women with green uniforms" clubs with 570 members participating in communes where border posts are stationed. Consolidating and expanding the "happy family" and "women with law" clubs, building 20 legal bookcases at branches, models, and effectively operating clubs; coordinating with border posts to establish solidarity groups in religious areas...

Through the Program "Accompanying women in border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025, it has contributed to raising awareness, changing the way of thinking and working for members and women in border areas to rise up and assert themselves and make positive contributions to the socio-economic development of border areas, contributing to strengthening the relationship of solidarity between the army and people, building increasingly strong border areas.

In Ha Tinh, the border communes according to Decision 900 have now reached the finish line of building new rural areas, which means the support activities of the Program to accompany women in the border areas have ended. However, the lives of cadres and women's union members in the border communes are still facing difficulties. Maintaining the program will continue to contribute to improving the lives of people in border areas, together with the Party Committee, government and political system to firmly protect the national border".
