BHG - The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province is being vigorously implemented by all levels, sectors and localities with many good and creative ways. Each cadre, party member, union member and citizen with practical actions, some supporting working days, some contributing cash, all share the same aspiration to contribute to the journey to eliminate temporary houses in the homeland.

On the day Mr. Vang Seo Xin's family in Coc Mui Ha village, Po Lo commune (Hoang Su Phi) started building a new house, over 30 union members and youths of the commune were present to help the family dismantle the old house, transport furniture, and level the ground. Each person contributed so the work was quickly completed. "My family is in difficult circumstances, the house has been degraded for many years and we do not have the conditions to rebuild. Thanks to the state's financial support and the enthusiastic help of the union members, after just over 3 months the new house was completed. I am very happy and grateful," Mr. Xin emotionally shared.

Leaders of Ha Giang province and city handed over the house to Ms. Truong Thi Oanh, group 7, Ngoc Ha ward.

The "Youth participate in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" group is an initiative of the Hoang Su Phi District Youth Union to mobilize young people to participate in supporting the construction of new houses for families in difficult circumstances. Up to now, the District Youth Union has established 28 groups in communes and towns with over 500 union members and young people participating, contributing more than 1,400 labors, helping 200/207 households eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Many union members with skills have directly participated in the worker group, helping families with tasks such as building walls, roofing, and building toilets.

Promoting the pioneering spirit of the youth, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has implemented many practical activities to support people in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, such as establishing a youth volunteer team and a volunteer motorcycle team to help households transport materials for free; supporting labor days, dismantling, moving furniture, and leveling the floor. At the same time, actively mobilizing resources from philanthropists, organizations, and individuals to support and give gifts, household items, necessities, plant varieties, and livestock to families in difficult circumstances... The enthusiasm and youthful energy have contributed to speeding up the process of building houses for poor households to soon stabilize their lives.

With the motto "Whoever has something helps, whoever has property helps property, whoever has merit helps merit, those who have a lot help a lot, those who have a little help a little", the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has mobilized the participation of the whole society. For many days now, the joy of having a new house has always been present on the face of Ms. Truong Thi Oanh, Group 7, Ngoc Ha Ward (Ha Giang City). As the wife of a martyr, raising children alone, for many years she has had to rent a house. In early 2025, she received support of 60 million VND to eliminate the temporary house. In addition to the State budget, the Ward People's Committee supported an additional 6 million VND, and people in the residential group contributed an additional 5 million VND for her to build a new house. “I am deeply moved by the support from the State and the contributions of the neighbors. Not only did they support money, but people also contributed labor, helped the family level the foundation, transport materials, and now the house has been completed according to the family's wishes,” Ms. Oanh shared.

In addition to the program's funding, districts and cities have actively mobilized social resources to help more households live in new, spacious houses. With the community's cooperation and contribution, by May 16, 2025, the whole province had 6,836 houses started construction, 4,211 houses completed and put into use. Each house built or repaired not only helps poor households settle down but also demonstrates the solidarity of the whole community with the spirit of determination "to leave no one behind".
