Many people expect that after the merger, the local administrative apparatus will be reorganized in a more scientific and reasonable way, reducing intermediary steps, improving work handling capacity and serving people better and better.

Streamlined, streamlined

Dong Nai has just completed collecting opinions from the people in the province on the Project of Arranging and merging Binh Phuoc province and Dong Nai province, the Project of Arranging commune-level administrative units of Dong Nai province in 2025. The results recorded by the authorities show that the collection of voters' opinions took place enthusiastically, ensuring progress and regulations. Most voters expressed high consensus and enthusiasm when participating in giving opinions on issues that are very important for the development of the province and the country in the future.

Commenting below the information related to the two projects mentioned above, many BĐs expressed their high agreement. Responding to the article Bien Hoa residents evaluate the names of communes and wards after the merger as having historical significance, which was quoted on Facebook of Dong Nai Newspaper on April 23, Facebook account Bao Long wrote: "I agree to merge Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc". Facebook account Vu Thuy shared: "People support the merger of provinces and communes, agree to abolish the district level".

According to the Dong Nai Province's Commune-level Administrative Unit Arrangement Project in 2025, Dong Nai plans to have 55 wards and communes. Viewing the list of communes and wards after the merger, Le Cuong's Facebook account shared: "I strongly agree with the merger of communes, wards and towns. This will help the state management apparatus become more streamlined, reduce the number of officials and civil servants, and save administrative costs."

Facebook account Le Cuong wrote: “When the commune-level administrative unit has a larger scale, the potential for development space, population and resources is also larger. From there, attracting investment and socio-economic development opens up more favorable opportunities for synchronous and effective development.”

Consider more about the name

Currently, the naming of administrative units in Dong Nai, especially in Bien Hoa city, is of great interest to the online community. Account Cong****@gmail.com said: "After merging and streamlining, just give them short, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-remember names. I agree with the names given." Facebook account Hoan My wrote: "Give 10 points for the name of Tran Bien ward." "Keeping the name Tran Bien is very good" - Facebook account Tam Nhung confided.

Some BĐs suggested that the authorities consider other names for wards and communes. Facebook account Van Minh wrote: “I wonder if the old wards will be changed to urban areas and the old communes to hamlets in the near future. If that happens, the current names for the new urban areas and hamlets can be kept. This will help preserve traditional place names.”

Some opinions suggested that the names of new communes and wards should consider the historical value and the soul of Bien Hoa, Dong Nai. Facebook account Quyen Nguyen wrote: "If we could change the name of a ward in Bien Hoa city to Nguyen Huu Canh ward, how great would that be? In Quang Ngai, they still name a ward Dang Thuy Tram."

Sharing with the press about naming administrative units in the province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung said that the Steering Committee for the arrangement and merger of administrative units has met many times, considering the use of place names for naming. At the same time, after consulting and consulting, it was decided to keep place names that are attached to the people's hearts such as: Bien Hoa, Long Khanh, Tan Trieu... The province's viewpoint is not to attach serial numbers 1, 2, 3... to administrative units and add a new ward name, Tran Bien. The arrangement of administrative units is streamlined and fewer, so it is not possible to name all the places associated with the history and culture of this land. The province has received and calculated the unnamed places to name streets, schools and social works.

Expressing agreement with the viewpoint on a social networking forum, the account leva****@gmail.com wrote: “I think the viewpoint of the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is very correct. I also strongly support the selection of place names associated with history and culture to name wards and communes after the merger. However, there are too many place names, while the merger of wards and communes will of course reduce the number compared to before, so only choose the names of some famous places, associated with long-standing history and culture to name the new wards and communes after the merger. The remaining places can be studied for naming roads, schools, hospitals, public entertainment areas... so that they are suitable for the new wards and communes after the administrative boundary merger”.

Currently, Dong Nai has a total of 159 administrative units in communes, wards and towns. After restructuring towards streamlining the apparatus, it is expected to reduce to only 55 units. Specifically:

After the arrangement, Bien Hoa city has 9 administrative units (Bien Hoa, Tran Bien, Tam Hiep, Long Binh, Trang Dai, Ho Nai, Long Hung, Phuoc Tan, Tam Phuoc).

Long Khanh City has 5 administrative units (Long Khanh, Binh Loc, Hang Gon, Bao Vinh, Xuan Lap).

Thong Nhat District 3 administrative units (Thong Nhat, Dau Giay, Gia Kiem).

Trang Bom District 5 administrative units (Trang Bom, An Vien, Binh Minh, Bau Ham, Hung Thinh).

Cam My district proposed to have 5 remaining administrative units (Cam My, Song Ray, Xuan Que, Xuan Dong, Thua Duc).

Xuan Loc District has 6 administrative units (Xuan Loc, Xuan Dinh, Xuan Phu, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Bac, Gia Ray).
