At the time of inspection, a representative of Thang Pham Law Firm and associates (representing cosmetic brands Lancome, YSN, Giorgio Armani, Hermes...) said that initial findings showed that many types of perfume were suspected of counterfeiting major brands.
According to the manufacturer's regulations, the packaging and the product must have the same code. In fact, many perfume bottles have a production code but the packaging does not have this code.
The functional force has made a record to seize all the cosmetic goods, currently in the process of counting. Through investigation, if the amount of fake goods worth over 1 billion VND is discovered, the case will be transferred to the police force to prosecute.
According to the Hanoi Market Management Department, to avoid the authorities, the owner of the shipment used the above location as a warehouse to store goods, not as a direct point of sale of products to consumers.
To sell cosmetics and perfumes without documents proving their origin, the owners of the shipments used social networks such as Zalo and Facebook to post pictures, articles, and clips offering the cosmetics and perfumes for sale.
Previously, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 146/KH-UBND to deploy a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in the city.
Specifically, the Department of Industry and Trade directed market management forces to inspect and strictly handle smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, banned goods, trade fraud and violations in e-commerce.
The city police have strengthened their grasp of the crime situation, cracked down on smuggling rings, focusing on food, pharmaceuticals, and health products. During the investigation, it is necessary to clarify the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals, and strictly handle negative and corrupt behaviors.
