Hanoi announces 10th grade admission methods for private schools and autonomous public schools

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has announced the enrollment plan for grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year for self-financed public schools and private schools so that parents can know and proactively plan for their children in the coming school year.

According to the list, there are currently 84 private high schools and self-financed public schools that have announced their enrollment plans.

Many schools use two methods for admission: Admission based on students' training and learning results at secondary school level and using the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Besides, many schools only use one method of admission, which is to consider the student's 4-year secondary school transcript.

At this time, Phan Huy Chu High School, Dong Da district has only announced that it will enroll students by two methods, without any specific plans or quotas for each enrollment method.

Hoang Cau High School, a self-financed public school, only recruits students using the 10th grade entrance exam scores.

Le Loi High School, a high-quality, financially autonomous public school, has announced its enrollment for the next school year using two methods: selection and Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam scores.

For the admission method, this school considers the student's academic records for 7 semesters, from the first semester of grade 6 to the end of the first semester of grade 9. The condition for submitting an application is that the student has a good academic result or higher, and a good training result in all semesters. Good academic results are added 5 points/semester; Good results are added 4 points/semester. Students who are admitted directly are those who have won excellent student awards in cultural subjects, sports, arts, scientific and technical research competitions, etc.

The second method is to consider admission based on the scores of candidates participating in the entrance exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. After the exam results are available, the school will announce the standard score.

In addition, "hot" schools that receive much attention from parents such as: Luong The Vinh Secondary - High School, Nguyen Tat Thanh High School, Marie Curie, Ta Quang Buu Secondary - High School, Nguyen Sieu Secondary - High School... also use both methods to enroll students for the next school year.
