Thus, for many consecutive years, Hanoi has been one of the two leading localities in the country in e-commerce development.

According to the Hanoi Tax Department, in the first half of 2024, Hanoi collected 7,362 billion VND in taxes from businesses, business households, and individuals doing business on e-commerce platforms.

According to economic experts, the development of e-commerce has led to a gradual recovery in the capital's export activities, with goods worth 10.4 billion USD exported, up 10.8% over the same period in 2023.

Head of the Trade Management Department (Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade) Hoang Thi Dieu Hong said that to increase export turnover, Hanoi enterprises have caught up with the trend of using e-commerce to reach customers and expand export markets.

Information from the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Hanoisme) shows that currently in the capital, 50% of businesses have learned about e-commerce, many businesses have used e-commerce as a distribution channel.

In the coming time, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Hanoi will actively expand the consumption market for agricultural products, handicrafts, products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, consumer goods through e-commerce channels; promote cross-border e-commerce transactions to help businesses export goods.

At the same time, the city develops infrastructure and solutions to support electronic transactions integrating payments in commerce and public services; ensuring payment security and safety to contribute to promoting electronic payments in e-commerce transactions.

In addition, Hanoi also develops delivery and logistics service infrastructure for e-commerce, applying new technologies in logistics activities in the city, expanding to the whole country.
