Kinhtedothi- Implementing the tourism development cooperation program for the period 2021-2025, on the afternoon of November 8, the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam exchanged experiences in developing rural agricultural tourism between the two provinces.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, Van Ba Son, rural and agricultural tourism in Quang Nam began to take shape in 2009. Currently, Quang Nam has 126 rural agricultural tourism resource points. In the first 9 months of 2024, the total number of visitors and accommodation reached 6,475,000, an increase of 6% over the same period in 2023.
Although rural agricultural tourism is one of the factors attracting tourists to Quang Nam province, some tours only stop at sightseeing, without any typical tourism products and services. Infrastructure is still limited, traffic is not synchronized, there is a lack of parking lots and toilets; tourism services are small in scale and do not ensure enough conditions to serve the needs of tourists.
Linking activities between tourism and rural areas to create product value chains are still limited and have not brought high efficiency. "Agricultural and rural tourism in Quang Nam is not really in-depth when most of the tourism products invested and exploited by the community only meet the simple needs of tourists" - Mr. Son clearly stated.
Giving suggestions for Quang Nam province to develop rural agricultural tourism, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association Phung Quang Thang stated that Quang Nam should develop rural tourism in the direction of building routes to connect destinations into unique and different tourism products with high experience and added value for tourists to experience.
At the same time, in the process of building tours and routes, the management agency needs to promote statistics on tourist demand, thereby supporting businesses to build suitable tours. "The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam should build a number of rural agricultural tours as models for travel businesses and localities to use as a basis to develop tours suitable to reality" - Mr. Thang suggested.
Agreeing with this opinion, Deputy Chief of the Hanoi New Rural Area Coordination Office Ngo Van Ngon proposed that in the coming time, the Quang Nam tourism industry needs to promote links in tourism business activities between new rural communes and travel agencies, thereby offering tourism products to domestic and international tourists.
From the perspective of the management agency, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu suggested that Quang Nam tourism should promote the development of tourism programs connecting with OCOP product production areas. Through this activity, it will increase the attractiveness of the tour and at the same time contribute to increasing income for the people; Encourage OCOP products in the direction of linking with cultural, community, ecological and historical values, thereby aiming towards sustainable tourism and rural development.
Promote the development of unique, distinctive, experiential, and high-value-added agricultural and rural tourism products. Promote support for farms, cooperatives, and community households in rural areas to do agricultural and rural tourism through connections with tourism and travel businesses.
“Currently, the Hanoi tourism industry is promoting the exploitation of rural tourism through the construction of the "South Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" tour including the Thanh Oai - Ung Hoa - My Duc route. In the period of 2024 - 2025, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will continue to focus on completing the second tourist route connecting the center of Hanoi - Thanh Tri - Thuong Tin - Phu Xuyen.
Building a community tourism model in Muong village, An Phu commune, My Duc district aims to preserve culture and promote traditional craft values of Muong people in An Phu, My Duc district; building experiential tourism products associated with heritage values, relics and craft villages of Ha Mo tourist site, Ha Mo commune, Dan Phuong district... This is a rural agricultural model that Quang Nam tourism should learn from and develop locally" - Mr. Hieu proposed.
