Hanoi strictly prohibits giving gifts to leaders during Tet

Directive No. 38 of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee strictly prohibits giving Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form.


Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, has just signed and issued Directive No. 38 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on organizing services for the Lunar New Year 2025 in the area.

Directive No. 38 requires Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations at all levels of the city to promote the tradition of "mutual love and support", step up the implementation of poverty reduction programs, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; actively and proactively carry out social security work, take good care of the material and spiritual life of people in the whole city with the motto "everyone, every family has Tet", no one is left behind.

The Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee affirmed that the effective implementation of Plan No. 359 of the City People's Committee on the emulation movement "bright, green, clean, beautiful"; strict implementation of festival management and organization, ensuring practical, safe, economical Spring and Tet activities, avoiding ostentation, formality, and waste; actively fighting against social evils, superstitions... contributes to building elegant and civilized Hanoians.

Notably, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee directed to strengthen the work of preventing and combating waste and negativity; not to organize visits and New Year greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels; not to organize city delegations to visit and wish New Year greetings to Party committees and affiliated units.

"It is strictly forbidden to give or present Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form; do not participate in superstitious activities; officials and leaders at all levels only attend festivals when assigned (except for participating in their personal capacity); do not use state budget, means, and public assets against regulations for festival and entertainment activities...", the Directive clearly states.

At the same time, strictly implement regulations on ethical standards; exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members and things party members are not allowed to do, especially regulations on not driving a vehicle after consuming alcohol or beer.

Also through the directive, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee requested to strengthen prevention, combat, and strict handling of all types of crimes, violations of the law, and social evils, especially strict handling of violations of regulations on alcohol concentration when driving vehicles.

Synchronously implement solutions to inspect, closely monitor, manage the market, stabilize prices, ensure balance between supply and demand of goods and services; ensure food safety, environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control...; strictly implement regulations on management and use of fireworks, not allowing the situation of illegal use of fireworks to become complicated during Tet...

The Hanoi Party Committee requested units and localities to prepare the best conditions to serve people to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.

As required, Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations from the city to the grassroots level must complete the summary of work in 2024 in December 2024.

In addition, each agency and unit must review work before Tet holiday, not to delay progress; arrange staff to be on duty during Tet, promptly handle and resolve work and arising situations, not to affect the interests of businesses, organizations and individuals; strictly implement information and reporting regime during Tet.

In addition, agencies and organizations must ensure a return to normal work immediately after the Tet holiday, focusing on strongly, drastically and synchronously implementing the 2025 work tasks right from the first months of the year, especially on schedule summarizing Resolution No. 18 on streamlining the political system apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently.
