Hanoi is ready for the 11th Capital Sports Festival

The 11th Hanoi Sports Festival in 2025 will be the largest sporting event in Hanoi to date. With 25 events, the event will attract thousands of athletes and referees, marking a new development step in the mass sports and high-performance sports movement in Hanoi.

On the afternoon of November 5, in Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held a press conference to inform about the 11th Capital Sports Festival in 2025. According to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai, this year's Festival will take place for 42 days, from November 4 to December 15, 2025, in 12 communes, wards and 4 sports facilities under the Department. The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held on November 28 at the Hanoi Athletics Palace, and the closing ceremony will take place at the Cultural House - Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.

The 11th Capital Sports Festival includes 25 sports, including swimming, athletics, table tennis, football, badminton, Taekwondo, wrestling, tennis, volleyball (leather, air), basketball, Karate, Aerobics, Wushu, Billiards & Snooker, chess, Chinese chess, dance sports, Pencak silat, Vovinam, Roller Sports, e-sports, traditional martial arts, shuttlecock, aerobics and tug of war.

Compared to the 10th Congress, this year's event added 3 more modern sports that attract young people: E-sports, Roller Sports and Dance Sports. These events are held at venues with national and international standard infrastructure such as Quan Ngua Stadium, Royal City Trade Center - the place that served SEA Games 31.

For the first time, the Capital Sports Festival was held simultaneously at two levels: grassroots and city. At the commune and ward levels, localities organized at least 8 mass sports, focusing on popular events such as football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, shuttlecock, swimming, athletics and many folk games. Up to now, 125/126 communes and wards across the city have completed the organization of the grassroots level Congress, Cua Nam ward is the last unit to organize in the next few days.

This year’s congress mobilized more than 1,000 international and national referees, ensuring fairness and high professional quality for the competitions. The organization was well prepared, and many localities proactively applied information technology in management, scoring and communication.

The 11th Capital Sports Congress is not only an occasion to summarize the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", but also a practical activity to welcome the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Through the event, the city continues to affirm its leading position in the country in the sports movement, while aiming for the goal that by 2030, over 50% of Hanoi's population will regularly exercise, contributing to improving physical strength, increasing longevity and quality of life of the people.

With the spirit of "Healthy to build and protect the Capital", the 11th Capital Sports Festival in 2025 promises to become a great festival of the people, where the spirit of sports, the will to train and solidarity spread strongly, contributing to building the image of a civilized - modern - civilized Capital.
