Two typical examples of Phu Yen have just been honored at the exhibition "Simple but noble examples" organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Museum to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), aiming to summarize 10 years of implementing Directive 05 on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. These are examples of "Good people, good deeds", contributing to widely spreading the study and following of Uncle Ho, pushing back the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle and social evils, so that the whole society is a forest of flowers with thousands of good deeds respectfully offered to President Ho Chi Minh.

Mr. So Minh Thuong, Secretary of the Party Cell of Phu Hai Village, Phu Mo Commune, Dong Xuan District, is one of 135 typical examples with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, selected for the exhibition "Simple but noble examples" in 2025. Not afraid of difficulties or hardships, always enthusiastic, attached, and proactive when the people need them, these are the valuable qualities of this Party Cell Secretary born in 1973. Before becoming the Party Cell Secretary, Mr. Thuong was the Secretary of the Village Youth Union and Deputy Village Head. In 2017, he was elected as Secretary and Village Head. In May 2024, he has held the position of Secretary of the Party Cell of Phu Hai Village until now.

Phu Hai village has 75 households with 100% of the population being ethnic minorities. Previously, people's awareness was limited, the economy was slow to develop, and life was difficult. Being a man of few words and many actions, Mr. Thuong started by developing the family economy so that people could see and follow. He propagated, mobilized and guided people in the village to plant forests and raise cows to develop the economy. Along with that, he actively mobilized the Ba Na people to preserve and promote the ethnic cultural identity. He persistently propagated to eliminate bad customs, build a civilized lifestyle, cultural families, and model residential areas. In the construction of new rural areas, Mr. Thuong actively propagated and mobilized people in the village to donate land, contribute to the construction of infrastructure, intra-village roads, and public works. Thanks to that, the socio-economic appearance of the village has clearly changed, and the number of poor households has decreased significantly.

As the Party cell secretary, Mr. Thuong always innovates his thinking, is creative, dares to think, dares to do, and dares to take responsibility for the common work. Mr. Thuong said: "The Phu Hai village Party cell has 23 party members, most of whom are farmers. In the Party cell activities, I thoroughly instruct all party members to do well the task of "Writing a party member's handbook following Uncle Ho's example" and to regularly hold quarterly thematic activities."

Learning from Uncle Ho from listening to and respecting the people, Mr. Thuong always persistently propagates so that the Ba Na people in the area understand and implement the Party's policies and the State's laws. Mr. Thuong often talks to grasp the thoughts, aspirations, difficulties and problems of the people to promptly reflect them to the Party Committee and the government for consideration and resolution; build a solid national solidarity bloc; raise awareness of the plots and activities of hostile forces taking advantage of ethnic minority areas... Thanks to that, in recent years, the security and order situation in ethnic minority areas in the villages and communes has been stable, without any complicated incidents.

Spreading "Weekend as a commune police officer"

For many people, the weekend is a time to rest, be with family or spend time for themselves. However, for police officers, especially commune police officers , the weekend is a time to work overtime to resolve outstanding work. Understanding the characteristics of commune police units with a small number of officers, the Provincial Police Youth Union has launched the movement "Weekend as a commune police officer" to implement the plan of the Department of Party and Political Affairs (Ministry of Public Security) on organizing activities to accompany youth police officers in communes and towns in the period of 2023-2027.

According to Mr. Do Nhu Duong, Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union, since the launching ceremony and implementation of the emulation movement "Weekend as a commune police officer" organized by the Provincial Police Youth Union, up to now, the unit's youth union chapters have enthusiastically organized this movement with more than 60 activities and more than 500 union members and young people participating. The unit has organized a peak day to launch and deploy activities in response to the movement "Weekend as a commune police officer" with the participation of 33/33 affiliated youth union units.

The exhibition "Ordinary but noble examples" has been held 13 times at the Ho Chi Minh Museum. In 2025, with more than 200 documents, articles and artifacts, the exhibition introduces to the public 135 typical and advanced examples; including 71 collectives and 64 individuals with outstanding achievements selected from more than 600 typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style nationwide. Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, said: The exhibition is a meaningful political and cultural activity. Not only introducing and honoring examples of "Good people, good deeds", but through the exhibition, it also helps the public gain a deeper understanding of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; From there, each person, each family, each collective will continue to contribute practical work that has a profound impact on life, so that our country will be a beautiful forest of good people and good deeds as wished by beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

The Youth Union chapters at all levels exchanged and shared knowledge and practical experience in handling administrative violations, administrative reform and professional work; deployed teams to support commune police in carrying out procedures for issuing ID cards, installing VNeID applications, level 2 electronic identification and online public services for more than 5,200 people; updated expanded population data, information on road motor vehicles, patrols and controls... Along with that, the Youth Union chapters at all levels presented 11 "Drinking water purifier" projects, 3 laptops, 1 refrigerator, 12 legal bookcases; presented more than 62 gifts, 18 administrative maps of Vietnam and 100 helmets to commune police; coordinated with commune police to carry out 16 "Security lighting" projects, "Security cameras", "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe" routes... with a total cost of more than 520 million VND.

In addition, the Youth Union at all levels coordinated with the police of the communes to organize 38 rounds of legal propaganda associated with the movement "All people protect national security" for more than 4,000 people and union members, youth; distributed more than 4,000 leaflets of legal propaganda combined with giving 14 bicycles and 254 gifts to disadvantaged students responding to the model "Adopted children of commune police" and the security and order protection force at the grassroots level... with a total cost of 171.4 million VND.

“The movement “Weekend as a Commune Police Officer” not only demonstrates the dynamism and volunteer spirit of the youth of the People’s Public Security, but also creates conditions for officers and soldiers to understand and share with their comrades, teammates, and become closer and understand the lives of the people. The youth of the Provincial Police are very excited and proud that this model has brought practical results and was chosen for the exhibition “Simple but noble examples”, Mr. Duong shared.
