(To Quoc) - On January 19th, more than 400 people dressed in traditional costumes paraded through historical sites and scenic spots in the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake area, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere to welcome the Year of the Snake 2025.

On January 19th, the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board organized the cultural program "Vietnamese Tet - Tet in the Old Quarter," beginning with approximately 400 people dressed in traditional costumes parading from the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu Street) through the historical sites and scenic spots around Hoan Kiem Lake.

The activity aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and promoting tangible and intangible cultural heritage values.

"The Hundred Flowers Walking Procession" for Tet 2025 is a unique cultural event to welcome the Year of the Snake 2025.

According to the itinerary, more than 400 people set off from the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu, Hoan Kiem), wearing traditional costumes, and walked through the historical sites and scenic spots in the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake area.

The performances of traditional dances such as the Nghê dance, the Sênh Tiền dance, the Bồng dance, and Xoan singing at the rest stop created a lively atmosphere.

Many young people who are passionate about and love traditional clothing have participated in numerous parades.

The event will bring Vietnamese traditional costumes closer to the public, contributing to the preservation of the nation's fine traditional values.

The procession attracted considerable attention from locals along the way, as well as domestic and international tourists.

As its name suggests, "Hundred Flowers Walking Street" is likened to a vibrant forest of flowers, with hundreds of costumes from dynasties such as Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen... being showcased through the streets, creating a colorful tapestry of Vietnamese culture.

More than just a cultural event, "The Hundred Flowers Walking Tour" also carries the hope of preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese traditional costumes - a symbol of sophistication, creativity, and talent in the nation's handicrafts.

The parade stopped for a photo opportunity in the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square area.

The procession concluded its journey at Kim Ngan Temple (Hang Bac Street).

Here, activities such as offering prayers to the tutelary deity, erecting the New Year's pole, and folk performances celebrating the new spring take place.

The activity involved writing calligraphy on a long piece of red cloth with the four characters "The Era of Rising Up".

This cloth will be hung on the ceremonial pole placed in front of Kim Ngan Temple.

The four words "A New Era of Awakening" express the aspiration for a new era in which the Vietnamese people are prosperous, happy, and well-off. Culture, intertwined with the spirit of the nation, creates a transformation in the new generation.
