“Since the beginning of the storm and flood season, the education sector has allowed students across the city to stay home from school three times to avoid storms and floods. Students in low-lying areas have been home from school for over 10 days. However, with the efforts of the entire education sector, up to now, 282/569 schools have resumed teaching,” said Mr. Nguyen Tan.
This afternoon (November 5), the leader of the People's Committee of A Luoi 1 commune (Hue city) said that after many hours of efforts to overcome landslides and clear rocks and soil at the serious landslide point on Ho Chi Minh road, section Km 317+150P, this road has now been reopened to traffic.

Previously, at the above location, a serious landslide occurred when a large amount of rock and soil from the mountain fell down, blocking the Ho Chi Minh road, causing traffic congestion. This is the only road connecting the mountainous communes of Hue city to the mountainous communes of Quang Tri province.
Upon receiving the news, the A Luoi 1 Commune authorities and relevant agencies set up barricades to ensure traffic safety for the people. At the same time, they mobilized specialized vehicles and human resources to fix the problem. By 10am this morning, the road was cleared for traffic.
