According to information from the Son La Provincial Legal Aid Center, from 2018 to now, the Center has handled more than 3,100 legal aid cases, of which over 90% are criminal cases. 100% of people who have requests are received and supported promptly. Many cases are carried out with quality, helping people protect their rights and legitimate interests before the law.

Legal aid work has been extended to villages and hamlets. Mobile legal aid sessions are regularly organized in communes in regions II, III, and border areas. From 2018 to present, the Center has organized 366 communication and legal consultation sessions in 741 poor communes and 835 particularly disadvantaged villages, attracting more than 79,000 participants. At the communication sessions, people were answered questions related to land, marriage and family, inheritance, criminal matters, etc. Many complicated cases were received, guided, and resolved right at the grassroots level, helping people understand and trust more in the legal policies of the state.
The province currently has 4 legal assistants, 16 contracted lawyers and 8 regular collaborators participating in activities. Every year, this team is trained in professional skills, litigation skills, professional ethics, and updated on new legal regulations. In addition to participating in litigation, communication work on legal aid is promoted in many forms such as through mass media, social networks, legal leaflets, bulletin boards at agencies and litigation headquarters, contributing to spreading the message "Legal aid - free, timely, and legal".
