Temporarily suspend teacher who sent "affectionate" messages to 10th grade female student

On November 5, the Department of Education and Training of Tay Ninh province announced that the principal of Rach Kien High School had just signed a decision to suspend Mr. NVT (National Defense Education teacher) for 15 days to coordinate with the Rach Kien Commune Police to investigate the act of harassing female students at the school. After receiving the official conclusion from the Police Investigation Agency, the school will carry out disciplinary procedures against teacher T.

Also on this day, Rach Kien Commune Police consolidated files to handle a number of parents and students who caused disturbances in school.

Previously, on October 20, the school's principal and vice principal received a text message from Ms. PTHL, the teacher in charge of grade 10, reporting that a female grade 10 student, NTTL, was being molested by a male teacher.

The school invited L. to come in to gather information. L. provided some “affectionate” text messages exchanged between L. and teacher T. L. also provided information about how teacher T. repeatedly touched L.’s body.

After the people involved wrote a report, the school worked with Mr. T. to ask him to stop the inappropriate actions between teacher and student. Mr. T. admitted to sending intimate messages to female student L. but did not admit to touching her body.

At around 2:25 p.m. on October 27, two women, one of whom was L.'s biological mother, entered the school, went to the equipment room and used objects to attack Mr. T. and those who tried to stop them. In addition, these people also hurled insults at the school's Board of Directors, causing chaos. Rach Kien Commune Police went to the scene to bring the people involved in to make a record for clarification.
