Hau Giang: Supporting more than 1,200 women to start businesses and start businesses

Of which, there are 50 members, ethnic minority women in 2 cooperatives and 2 cooperative groups; 30 disabled women in 1 cooperative, 1 cooperative group and individual business models.

Supporting women in starting businesses and startups is done in many ways such as organizing consulting days, supporting women in starting businesses, digital transformation, accessing policy credit, coordinating with industries to incubate projects to create products that meet standards and quality. At the same time, supporting coordination of plants, breeds, science and technology; coordinating support for attending trade promotion conferences, connecting and consuming products; displaying products at fairs, building sales points to consume startup products, building OCOP stores for women in Hau Giang...

In addition, we have coordinated to support the establishment of 37 cooperatives managed by women and the establishment of 105 cooperative groups managed by women. 100% of newly established women-owned businesses have received advice and support for business development.

Women's Unions at all levels proactively coordinate closely with sectors and banks to create favorable conditions for members and women to access loans to implement business ideas; support the building of brands and product labels in accordance with development requirements. Women's officials and members enthusiastically participate in start-up activities, develop creative ideas, contribute to economic development and create jobs for rural workers.

Ms. Le Thi My Tien - Vice President of Hau Giang Provincial Women's Union, said that the implementation of Project 939 has created conditions and encouraged members and women to boldly transform the economic structure, develop forms of production organization such as cooperatives, joint groups, and cooperatives; help women access capital sources, take advantage of vocational training programs and projects, and introduce jobs for women to form ideas and build effective economic models.

The project has brought about practical results, helping women to be confident and bold in starting their own businesses and developing the economy. At the same time, it has created jobs and stable income for female workers in the locality.
