Arsenal are optimistic about Kai Havertz's quick recovery. |
In a statement released on August 29, Arsenal said: “After sustaining a knee injury in the match against Manchester United on August 17, Kai Havertz required surgery. The minor surgery was performed successfully, and the player will soon begin his rehabilitation programme.”
According to BBC Sport , Arsenal believe Havertz will only be out for a few weeks rather than months as initially feared. Previously, Arsenal's medical team were concerned that the striker had suffered a recurrence of a knee injury, a problem that often causes nightmares for many professional players.
In February, Havertz also suffered a serious knee injury and was ruled out until the end of the 2024/25 season. However, Havertz's injury this time is not as serious as expected.
Havertz's absence will affect coach Mikel Arteta's plans for the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on August 31 in the third round of the Premier League. However, with new recruits such as Eberechi Eze or Viktor Gyökeres, coach Arteta has a fairly thick squad in attack. In addition to Havertz, Bukayo Saka (hamstring injury), Martin Odegaard, Christian Norgaard and Ben White are also likely to miss the big match against Liverpool.
