No longer 'indifferent to music', Hoaprox, K-391 and Nick Strand release new MV

MV Afterglow is a product of the trio Hoaprox, K-391 and Nick Strand

MV Afterglow was recently posted on K-391's personal channels.

On his Instagram page, Hoaprox shared that 2024 was the year he felt somewhat indifferent to the music world, his soul no longer in tune with the things that had accompanied him over the years. " Afterglow is like a spark that rekindles the passion in me," Hoaprox wrote.

Afterglow comes as a savior

Hoaprox told Tuoi Tre Online that last year was an emotionally difficult year for him, feeling like he couldn't enter his music world like before.

"That's why I released very few products last year. There was a period of time when I chose to rest both physically and mentally to find a reboot for myself," Hoaprox said.

So Afterglow was like a lifesaver, from the idea to the first demos, he felt the same excitement in himself as Hoaprox when he was a young boy learning to make music.

The song in the MV is a blend of techno/house genres, combined with energetic rhythms, reflecting the desire to relive intense emotions and cherish beautiful memories of the past.

"Vietnam is having many new, unique EDM artists"

In an interview with Tuoi Tre a long time ago, Hoaprox shared about the dark side of Vietnamese EDM music: There are few true EDM performances, many DJs just try to create a mysterious, sexy look for themselves to perform physically.

“The market is not something that can change quickly, but I have seen a lot of positive things,” he said.

Hoaprox assessed that Vietnam currently has many EDM artists who are "brand new but have very strong personalities and different colors", improving the diversification of the market. According to him, this is a positive point for a music genre to develop more widely in the music lover community.

This MV continues Hoaprox's collaboration with international artists. K-391 is a platinum-certified producer who has collaborated with Alan Walker on global hits such as Lily, Ignite and Play.

Nick Strand is a talented producer, known for his Grammy-nominated remix of I Took a Pill in Ibiza .

Is it because the domestic EDM market is too small and crowded that Hoaprox constantly collaborates with international artists?

"Previously, I saw many colleagues think that collaborating with foreign artists is unthinkable for Vietnamese artists. I found it absurd because Vietnamese artists are very good and talented," Hoaprox shared.

However, he has never placed too much emphasis on collaborating with domestic or international artists. Hoaprox said that from the beginning, he simply wanted to explore his own limits.
