Realizing the 2025 growth target: The resilience of the construction industry and the role of leading enterprises

(Chinhphu.vn) - In the context of the global economic difficulties, Vietnam's decision to set a GDP growth target of 8.3-8.5% for 2025 is a strategic decision, demonstrating a strong desire for development. To realize this goal, the role of key economic sectors, including the construction industry, is extremely important.

Political determination and strategic vision of the Government

At the Government's online conference with localities on July 16, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a clear and strong message: The whole country needs to strive to achieve a growth rate of about 8.3-8.5% in 2025. This goal aims to "create momentum, create force, create enthusiasm, and create a solid foundation to achieve double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period".

The Prime Minister emphasized that despite facing many difficulties from the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and global supply chain disruptions, Vietnam has maintained macroeconomic stability, controlled inflation, and ensured major balances. GDP growth in the first 6 months of the year reaching 7.52% is a testament to the outstanding efforts of the entire system. However, to achieve higher goals, the Prime Minister requested to renew traditional growth drivers (consumption, export, investment) and strongly promote new growth drivers such as green growth, circular economy , and digital economy .

At the same time, it is emphasized that the entire political system must act. If there is no action, no synchronization, no professionalism, and no direction, there will be no combined strength. There must be unanimity, determination, and unity of perception and action to ensure the goals set by the Party and the National Assembly.

Construction industry: Confident growth pillar reaches the finish line

According to estimates, to ensure the economic growth target of about 8% or more as directed by the Prime Minister, the construction industry needs to grow by 9% or more. Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh affirmed that completing the above target is feasible.

Right from the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Construction assigned units under the Ministry to calculate and develop growth scenarios and key indicators of the industry to achieve the above growth target.

Mr. Bolat Duisenov - Chairman of Coteccons Board of Directors: Coteccons has built a sustainable development roadmap

In the context that the construction industry consumes up to 40% of energy and causes more than 30% of global greenhouse gas emissions, Coteccons has placed the Environment - Society - Governance (ESG) strategy at the center, as "the core for the life and future of the enterprise".

As the leading general contractor in Vietnam, Coteccons is determined to become the center - catalyst - important link in promoting the sustainable development of the construction industry in general.
