Effectiveness of security and order models in Tay Son ward

(GLO)- In recent years, Tay Son Ward Police (An Khe Town, Gia Lai Province) has advised the Party Committee and People's Committee of the ward to establish 9 models on security and order. The models have been effective, contributing to maintaining security and order in residential areas.

For the peace of the residential area

In July 2024, Tay Son ward launched the People's Patrol Team model in 7 residential groups with 70 members. After nearly 1 year of operation, the model has brought practical results in the fight against crime and spreading the movement of the whole people to protect national security.

Mr. Nguyen Sanh Dan, a member of the People's Patrol Team of Neighborhood Group 7, said: "Every week, members and the local police patrol residential areas and increase patrols during holidays and Tet. When a law violation occurs in the area, I am ready to go on duty regardless of time, day or night, rain or shine," said Mr. Dan.

Since the beginning of the year, the People's Patrol Team of Residential Group 7 has detected and handled 5 cases of law violations. Mr. Mai Thanh Hai - Team Leader - said: The members of the team are equipped with support tools. At the end of the patrol, the members record in the diary and report the results according to regulations. Every month, the local police hold a meeting with the team to assess, summarize the situation, and report to the Ward Police. With a high sense of responsibility, the team has contributed to maintaining peace in the residential area, firmly consolidating the security and order situation at the grassroots level.

In order to create a strong change in security and order, in 2017, Tay Son ward established a group toeducate and reform offenders in the residential community. By 2023, this model had been replicated in all 7 residential groups.

Mr. Le Quang Thanh - Head of the group to rehabilitate offenders in the residential community of residential group 2 - said: In the area, there are 2 cases that have completed their prison sentences and returned to their hometowns. Both are of working age and have difficult family circumstances. Implementing the motto "slow and steady wins the race", members of the group regularly visit the homes of these cases to propagate, mobilize, and grasp the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of the above cases in order to have appropriate educational and support measures. Up to now, these 2 cases have gone to driving school and have stable jobs.

“Since its inception, the Community Rehabilitation and Education Team for Offenders has not only contributed to effectively preventing the increase of crimes and social evils, but also promoted the proactiveness, positivity, and sense of responsibility of the political system, raised public awareness in educating and managing children and offenders, and contributed to stabilizing the security and order situation in the area,” said Mr. Thanh.

Improve model efficiency

Tay Son Ward is identified as a key area for security and order. Over the years, the ward has established and maintained 9 models in residential groups, including: people's patrol groups; groups to reform and educate people who have made mistakes in the residential community; security cameras; groups without illegal weapons, explosives, and supporting tools; inter-family groups for fire prevention and fighting safety; public fire stations; groups to resolve and resolve conflicts in the residential community; inter-family groups for self-management of security and order; and groups for self-management of traffic safety.

From 2024 to present, the people's patrol teams have conducted 112 patrols and controls with 406 participants. Through patrols, they reminded 20 cases of parking on the road about traffic laws; reminded 50 households doing business about ensuring security and order; inspected and reminded 20 groups of young people gathering, posing a risk of causing insecurity and order in public areas. The community education and rehabilitation team met and rehabilitated 49 subjects. Along with that, 28 cameras have been installed in residential groups to serve the work of monitoring security and order in the ward.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Hung - Head of Tay Son Ward Police - informed: Each model has its own strengths but all contribute to maintaining security and order in residential areas. On that basis, the Ward Police successfully built the model of "Typical Ward Police, model of security and order and urban civilization", and people's awareness of law compliance is also increasingly improved.

Therefore, the models have been effective in ensuring security and order in the area.
