Coach Anh Duc takes over Binh Duong Club

Former striker Nguyen Anh Duc will replace Nguyen Cong Manh as head coach of Binh Duong Club for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

According to Tri Thuc - Znews , Nguyen Anh Duc will take over Binh Duong Club to replace coach Nguyen Cong Manh. This is the decision of the team's leadership after a series of not-so-good matches in recent times.

Coach Nguyen Cong Manh replaced Hoang Anh Tuan in December last year. However, during his tenure, the team struggled and only won 1 match after 10 rounds. They lost 6 matches, drew 3 and are currently at the bottom of the rankings.

Under pressure from fans and performance, coach Cong Manh submitted his resignation in early April. However, at that time, the Binh Duong club's board of directors still decided to keep him, hoping that the team would improve. However, after a series of recent unconvincing matches, the team was forced to make the decision to change coaches to save the season.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh Duc is a familiar name to Vietnamese football fans, especially to Binh Duong Club. Coach Anh Duc is a "homegrown" player, having grown up at the training ground of the team in Thu Dau Mot, having played and captained the team for many years there. He has won many titles with the club, and contributed greatly to the 2018 AFF Cup championship with the Vietnam National Team.

After hanging up his boots, Coach Anh Duc worked as an assistant to Coach Park Hang-seo at the national team. Before returning to Go Dau Stadium, he spent time leading Binh Phuoc Club in the national first division.

Returning to Binh Duong this time as head coach, Anh Duc is expected to inspire the players with fighting spirit, as well as utilize his deep understanding of the team to gradually revive the club. The immediate task for Anh Duc is to help the team escape the crisis in performance and complete the goal of staying in the V.League when there are only 5 rounds left.
