This afternoon (November 6), the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that storm Kalmaegi is about 220km east-southeast of Quy Nhon ( Gia Lai ). The strongest wind is level 15 (167-183km/h), gusting above level 17.
Forecast in the next 3 hours, the storm moves mainly to the west, speed about 25km/h.
Looking at satellite images, we can see the storm very clearly, with a wide southern circulation sweeping all the way to Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces.
The Southern Hydrometeorological Station said that due to the storm, the Southern sea area and Ho Chi Minh City, including the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, will have westerly to southwest winds gradually increasing to level 5, wave height from 1.5-2.5m, and the sea will be slightly rough, sometimes rough during thunderstorms.
In Lam Dong sea area, the wind is level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, wave height 2-3m, rough sea. In Ca Mau - An Giang - Phu Quoc sea area, the wind is from west to southwest level 3-4, wave height from 0.5-1.5m, sometimes slightly rough in thunderstorms.
In both seas, the weather is showery and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind level 6-7.
The South is cloudy, with showers in many places in the afternoon, evening and night, and scattered thunderstorms. Some places have moderate to heavy rain, and some places have very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
In Ho Chi Minh City, in the afternoon, evening and night, there will be showers in many places and scattered thunderstorms, with moderate to heavy rain in some places.
Today the tide is also very high, heavy rain combined with high tide will cause severe flooding in low-lying areas.
