Quoc Nghiep said this is the first time he has taken on the role of judge in a beauty contest for men and accompanied other beauty queens and famous artists to find a male king who has all the qualities to represent Vietnam in the international arena.
“In today’s era, there are many playgrounds that help men fully express themselves in terms of mind, talent, and beauty. More specifically, they can represent their country in the international arena. Nghiep thinks this is truly a useful arena for men at the present time. Nghiep spent time reviewing the contestants’ profiles, and together with other judges and the organizing committee, began to research the scoring method. For Nghiep, before anything, careful preparation and serious investment are always necessary,” Meritorious Artist Quoc Nghiep shared when he agreed to become the “judge” of the competition.
Regarding the scoring criteria, Quoc Nghiep said that to be a King representing Vietnam in the international arena, many factors are needed from appearance - thinking - foreign language to social activities. According to the male judge, these are necessary factors that can easily create a difference and leave an impression.
In response to many concerns about the unprofessional grading, Quoc Nghiep shared: "Nghiep himself is a circus artist who has toured and competed in many countries around the world, which is a favorable condition for Nghiep to be able to share with the candidates his experiences and journeys so that the two words Vietnam can be proudly known throughout the five continents."
Meritorious Artist Quoc Nghiep was born and raised in a family with three generations of circus and martial arts tradition. In his personal career, he brought home his first gold medal at the Vietnam Circus Festival 2009-2010. The “Circus Prince” has won numerous gold and silver medals at many domestic and international competitions.
He and his brother Quoc Co are the only two Vietnamese circus artists in the world to hold 4 Guinness World Records in 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023 for the shortest head-stacking performance up 100 stairs and the only person in the world to do a blindfolded head-stacking.
With his contributions, Quoc Nghiep was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist at the age of 26 and became one of the youngest Meritorious Artists in Vietnam. In addition to his successful career with many outstanding achievements, Quoc Nghiep also has a happy family life with his wife, singer Ngoc Mai.
