On the morning of December 31, in Hanoi, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council chaired the Conference to announce decisions on the organization and staff of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW. The Conference was connected online to the entire Academy system.

On December 28, 2024, on behalf of the Politburo, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Decision No. 214-QD/TW on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
The Politburo decided that the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics is a national center for training and fostering mid- and high-level leaders, managers, and political theory scientists of the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations; a national center for training and fostering cadres, civil servants, and public employees, and training human resources at university and postgraduate levels; a national center for scientific research on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, theories on innovation guidelines, Party guidelines, and State policies and laws; Research on political science, leadership science, management, administrative science, state management, public administration to serve teaching and learning, contributing to providing scientific arguments for planning and perfecting the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; consulting on theoretical work, cultural, literary and artistic criticism; consulting, orienting, managing, and presiding over the coordination of scientific activities of Central Party agencies.
Regarding the organizational structure, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics has a Director and no more than 5 Deputy Directors. The Director of the Academy is assigned by the Politburo, and the Deputy Directors are considered and decided by the Secretariat.
Also according to the decision, regarding the leadership of the Central Theoretical Council, there is a Chairman who is the Director of the Academy or an officer in charge of Party theoretical work assigned by the Politburo and no more than 5 Vice Chairmen considered and decided by the Secretariat upon the proposal of the Chairman of the Council.
Implementing the project of streamlining and streamlining the apparatus, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics reduced 23 focal points (from 54 focal points to 31 focal points). Specifically, including 9 departments and functional units: Department of Personnel Organization; Department of Training and Development Management; Department of Science Management; Department of Political Schools; Department of International Cooperation; Department of Planning and Finance; Inspection Board; Academy Office; Center for Technology and Digital Transformation.
16 research, teaching, information and publishing institutes, including: Institute of Philosophy; Institute of Political Economy; Institute of Ho Chi Minh and Party Leaders; Institute of Party History; Institute of Party Building; Institute of Economics - Society and Environment; Institute of Politics and International Relations; Institute of State and Law; Institute of Human Rights; Institute of Culture and Development; Institute of Leadership and Public Administration; Institute of Ethnicity and Religion; Institute of Scientific Information; Journal of Political Theory; Publishing House of Political Theory.

6 affiliated academies include: Regional Political Academy I (located in Hanoi); Regional Political Academy II (located in Ho Chi Minh City); Regional Political Academy III (located in Da Nang); Regional Political Academy IV (located in Can Tho); Academy of Journalism and Propaganda (located in Hanoi); Academy of Public Administration and Management (headquartered in Hanoi, 1 branch in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 branch in Quang Nam).
Speaking at the Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, said that the arrangement and streamlining of the revolutionary apparatus was carried out urgently, creating a strong change in the direction of "refined, compact, strong, effective, efficient, and effective". The arrangement is the streamlining, closely linked to functions and tasks.
“We have shown great determination to stabilize and put into operation soon, bringing about practical results and vividly demonstrating that Resolution 18 does not just stop at decisions but must bring about practical results, then it can be called the most successful arrangement. I am very confident that we support a major policy of the Party to create revolutionary changes, so that we can enter a new era of development,” said comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang./.
