Shelter of love at Danang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company

Environmental sanitation workers are people who endure many hardships, work in harsh environments, and are often exposed to toxic waste and potential risks. Realizing this, for many years, the company has maintained the "Golden Heart" movement, calling on the spirit of humanity to send to cadres, union members, and workers to join hands in donating and helping colleagues facing difficulties due to work-related accidents, serious illnesses, or loss of loved ones. Each donation is a testament to the camaraderie, the spirit of "a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", spreading deeply in the collective. Although the support is small in material terms, it contains great love, giving dozens of workers the strength to overcome adversity as well as in their work.

Mr. Pham Trung Thanh, Chairman of the Trade Union of Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, shared: “The highlight of the Workers’ Month 2025 is the initiative of the Company’s Trade Union to propose to the City Labor Federation to support the construction of houses for union members in difficult circumstances. This time, there are 5 cases of new construction and 1 case of house repair.

Among them, Ms. Hoang Thi Ha (worker of Cam Le 2 Environmental Enterprise) is one of the lucky ones to receive the “Union Shelter”, helping to realize the dream of a solid home in the midst of difficult days”. Ms. Ha’s family is living in a dilapidated level 4 house in Hoa Tien commune, Hoa Vang district. Her husband has an unstable job, she is the main breadwinner with a low worker income, raising a young child and struggling with a challenging life.

Faced with that situation, the company's Union surveyed and proposed to support her in rebuilding the house with a budget of 50 million VND, mobilized from the City Labor Federation, the company's Union fund and colleagues' contributions. Ms. Ha emotionally said: "Although the house is still under construction, I often stop by to see each brick and newly built wall, my heart filled with indescribable happiness. Although life is full of hardships, I feel lucky to work in a collective full of humanity and sharing."

Not only focusing on individual support, Workers' Month 2025 also has a series of synchronous activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of workers. In particular, the Union awarded 40 subsidies (each worth 500,000 VND) to union members in difficulty, 30 outstanding union members were sent to attend the launching ceremony of Workers' Month and Occupational Safety and Health Month organized by the city, creating opportunities to exchange, learn and honor the spirit of dedication of workers.

On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1, the Union organized fun activities, gave gifts and awarded scholarships to children of union members with excellent academic achievements and overcoming difficulties. Thereby, the Union contributed to strengthening the relationship between the organization and each worker's family, building a sustainable and warm working community. In addition to meaningful social activities, Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company focuses on building a safe, healthy and fair working environment. The company ensures full and timely payment of salaries and bonuses and strictly implements health insurance, social insurance and unemployment insurance regimes according to regulations, putting the interests and peace of mind of workers first.

Every year, the company cooperates with the Trade Union to organize periodic health check-ups, provide full labor protection equipment, maintain reasonable shift meals and toxic allowances to protect workers' long-term health, demonstrating initiative and thoughtfulness in comprehensive, systematic and sustainable care for workers. The company pays special attention to training and fostering to improve professional qualifications and skills for workers; many training courses on professional skills, labor safety and fire prevention and fighting are organized to disseminate legal regulations, raise awareness and equip skills to work safely in risky environments.

This is an essential step to help workers protect themselves and improve the quality of their work. The company always listens to and accepts employees' opinions through internal feedback channels.
