"Taking advantage of the recent discovery and handling of some companies producing and trading fake milk by the authorities, some individuals and organizations have deliberately used my and my family's images to defame, discredit and insult my personal honor. This has caused deep damage to my entire family, especially my two daughters who are at a psychologically sensitive age. My family is currently suffering from a severe psychological crisis from a series of acts that defame and slander us," he wrote in the petition.
Quyen Linh said that some information sites and personal pages have posted articles, videos and images on social networks and electronic news sites that intentionally associate his personal image with incidents related to fake milk, with insulting and harsh words, causing serious misunderstandings. The artist said that the dissemination of incomplete, incorrect and misleading information, creating public opinion and leading public opinion in a negative direction has directly violated his honor, dignity and reputation.
Quyen Linh wrote: "I would like to confirm that the products I have cooperated with are not on the list of 573 fake milk products announced by the authorities. At the same time, I have also stopped cooperating with brands, but over the years, I have been continuously attacked by some parties by spreading false and misleading information. This has really had a significant impact on my reputation, personal honor as well as my family's life.
The situation has become especially tense in recent days, causing my family to fall into a severe psychological crisis. I have noticed that individuals and organizations not only take photos of my private life, my hobbies of wearing flip-flops or eating instant noodles, but also take photos of my two daughters and my wife with the aim of defaming my honor, reputation, humiliating me and aiming to attract likes and views.
At the end of the petition, Quyen Linh said he accepted any wrongdoing but affirmed that it had nothing to do with the 573 types of fake milk that authorities announced in recent days.
After receiving the artist's petition, on April 21, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu - Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association signed an urgent dispatch requesting the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Culture and the Department of Internal Political Security, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security to consider and take measures to handle individuals who have violated the law as stated in the petition of artist Quyen Linh - a member of the Cinema Association.
"According to the Cinema Association and Quyen Linh, this behavior shows signs of violating the law because it is contrary to the provisions of the Civil Code, Criminal Code and Cyber Security Law on not creating false evidence for the purpose of attributing, accusing and sharing false information, unverified information. The above actions also seriously infringe upon the dignity, honor, and reputation of Quyen Linh and negatively affect the life of the artist's family," quoted from Official Dispatch No. 87HDA of the Cinema Association sent to the authorities.
