The province currently has 1,262 grassroots trade unions with over 135,000 union members. Following the leadership and direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL); the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and the coordination and facilitation of departments, branches, sectors, unions and enterprises, the Provincial Federation of Labor has led and directed the movement of workers and trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year to gradually complete the set tasks. In particular, focusing on performing well the function of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Many activities have been of practical significance, recognized by Party committees and authorities at all levels, and highly appreciated by union members, workers and people such as: Tet Sum Vay Program, Trade Union Tet Market, Workers' Month, etc.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year, the Provincial Federation of Labor and the direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level presented 17,026 gifts, 260 bus tickets, and organized 23 trips to take 550 workers home to celebrate Tet with a total amount of over 10.6 billion VND; the grassroots trade unions presented gifts to more than 69,700 union members and workers. During the Workers' Month, the Provincial Federation of Labor and the direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level presented nearly 600 gifts (500,000 VND/gift), presented support plaques to 6 "Union Shelters"; commended and rewarded more than 110 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in labor, production and trade union activities.
The emulation movement among workers has many innovations in a specific, practical direction, suitable to the actual conditions of each unit, contributing to the completion of the task of socio -economic development of the locality. In the first 6 months of the year, the whole province has established 13 grassroots trade unions, developed more than 5,300 union members, established 10 mass women's committees; introduced 524 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission.
The Provincial Federation of Labor has also developed a Project to end the activities of the Provincial Federation of Labor Party Committee, a Project to reorganize committees, dissolve industry unions; establish a Trade Union of the Provincial Party Committee agencies, a Trade Union of the Provincial People's Committee and reorganize the Provincial Federation of Labor Committees. Guide the Federations of Labor of districts, cities and towns to develop a Project and guide the grassroots unions subject to merger under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Regarding the key tasks for the last 6 months of the year, trade unions at all levels continue to promote propaganda and disseminationof education and laws; encourage employees to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, promote initiatives, improve techniques, and have many projects and products to celebrate the founding day of Vietnam Trade Union on July 28. Organize activities to give gifts to children of union members and employees in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the opening of the new school year.
Participate in contributing to the Project on streamlining the apparatus of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio- political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State. Continue to carry out the work of streamlining the apparatus under the direction of competent authorities. Complete the Project on dissolving Ha Nam Technical and Economic College. Urge trade unions at all levels to complete the targets of developing union members; establish grassroots trade unions; collect union dues, union funds, etc.
