On June 4, in Lam Son ward (Bim Son) and Thuong Xuan town (Thuong Xuan), the Provincial Farmers' Association (PPA) coordinated with the People's Committee of Bim Son town and the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan district to launch a campaign to respond to World Environment Day (June 5).

With the theme "Fighting plastic pollution", the Provincial Farmers' Association calls on all cadres, members, farmers and people of all walks of life to raise their sense of responsibility and take action to ensure environmental sanitation; "Join hands to reduce plastic waste - Spread green lifestyle"; mobilize to clean the environment, plant trees, collect and treat waste; promote propaganda work in not using non-biodegradable plastic bags and disposable plastic products; produce and use environmentally friendly products and services.

Along with the activities of the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Farmers' Associations of districts, towns and cities also coordinate to organize activities to clean up the environment; plant trees; clean the coast; collect, classify and process organic waste into fertilizer, and treat waste in an environmentally friendly way. Propaganda and mobilize cadres, farmer members and local people to raise public awareness: Use baskets and plastic boxes with handles (long-term use) to store food instead of plastic bags when going to the market; gradually reduce the use of small plastic bags, increase the reuse of plastic products to increase the life cycle of plastic products, contributing to reducing plastic waste.
