Attending the event were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Staff Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, along with many members of the Tay Ninh Soursop Association, and people living in communes where soursop trees are being cultivated.
At the thematic meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment deployed the key contents of Decision No. 23/2019/QD-UBND, dated June 28, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating regulations on supporting linkage in production and consumption of agricultural products in Tay Ninh province for the period 2019-2025.
Up to now, Minh Trung Agricultural Service Cooperative has signed a cooperation contract to implement Decision No. 23/2019/QD-UBND with 39 households with 110 hectares of soursop trees. The expected time to finalize the list of households participating in the cooperation is May 15, 2025. After that, the Cooperative will focus on developing a cooperation plan, preparing full documents to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and support for the project of linking to grow soursop trees.
Recently, the Cooperative has received many reports from households about the theft of custard apples about to be harvested; the situation of people being tricked by some subjects pretending to be traders selling custard apples on social networks Facebook, Zalo, TikTok into transferring money to pay for custard apple orders but then not delivering the goods, blocking interactions or delivering goods but not ensuring quality, the custard apples are damaged, rotten, and cannot be used...
Major Nguyen Van Hon - Officer of the Staff Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police shared very detailed information about the form of theft and the fraud methods of those who impersonate traders. Specifically, the subjects often observe the custard apple garden about to be harvested, pay attention to the living time of the garden owner, take advantage of the time when the garden owner is negligent or not in the garden to steal custard apples, causing a not small economic loss for the people.
Regarding the form of fraud in selling custard apples via social networks, the subjects use images of custard apple farms to impersonate, trick buyers into transferring money, then block communication, or more sophisticatedly, create links containing malicious code, trick people into paying by clicking on the link and having their phones taken over, more seriously, their bank accounts are stolen and all the money in the account is lost.
To prevent the dangers of sophisticated forms of theft and fraud as above, Major Nguyen Van Hon recommends that people should be vigilant and regularly arrange garden guards to minimize the theft of custard apples. At the same time, limit buying and selling custard apples on social networks. If you do, choose reputable places from official websites or custard apple trading cooperatives to buy. In addition, when being lured by subjects to pay by money transfer before delivery or accessing unclear links, people absolutely must not follow to avoid losing money and not having the custard apples delivered.
In case of custard apple theft or being cheated of money through bank transfer, people can contact the local police directly, or through the phone number to receive reports, denounce crimes, traffic safety and order and reflect on the etiquette and manners of police officers at the hotline of Tay Ninh Provincial Police: 0693.531.494 so that the unit can promptly verify, clarify and support the people.
At the meeting, Minh Trung Agricultural Service Cooperative mobilized members of Tay Ninh Soursop Association to elect regional group leaders at the meeting locations. This activity aims to support the Association to have more information sources, promptly conveying the State's policies and guidelines on supporting people in agricultural production.
