Rectifying the situation of sidewalk encroachment for nighttime business in Tay Ninh city

Nighttime business services have contributed to the hustle and bustle of Tay Ninh city, including restaurants, fashion stores, etc. along some major roads of Tay Ninh city such as Hoang Le Kha, Vo Thi Sau, 30/4, Nguyen Thai Hoc, etc.

However, recently, households and individuals doing business, especially clothing, beverage and snack shops along some roads, have encroached on sidewalks for business purposes, causing disorder in urban safety, affecting civilized urban lifestyle and posing potential risks to traffic safety.

According to the reporter group, on the evening of May 26, on Vo Thi Sau Street, clothing businesses occupied the entire sidewalk to do business, customers' vehicles had to park on the street; on Hoang Le Kha Street, a coffee shop occupied the entire sidewalk, setting up rows of tables to do business.

A resident living on Hoang Le Kha Street, Ward 3, Tay Ninh City was upset that the sidewalk was originally designated for pedestrians to ensure traffic safety.

However, now people want to walk on the sidewalk but have no place to go because of the situation of business occupying the sidewalk. At night is the time when many people want to walk to relax and exercise but have to walk on the street, which is potentially dangerous.

According to the Department of Economy , Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Tay Ninh City, in May 2025, the Traffic Safety Committee of Tay Ninh City plans to coordinate in handling urban order and urban civilization in the city, focusing on rectifying and handling the situation of business and trading encroaching on roads and sidewalks, violating the road traffic safety corridor.

The main routes where the forces focused on were 30/4, Cach Mang Thang 8, Vo Thi Sau, Hoang Le Kha, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Chi Thanh...

However, in the face of the images that Tay Ninh Newspaper reporters recorded of the situation of trading encroaching on the roadway, sidewalks, and violating road traffic safety corridors on some roads in Tay Ninh city, the city's competent authorities need to be more drastic in order to rectify the situation.
