Attending the workshop were 60 delegates representing Song Hinh District Party Committee, District People's Committee, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Rural Development Department, Provincial Department of Crop Production and Livestock, Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, representatives of Commune People's Committees and durian growers in Song Hinh District.
Speaking at the workshop, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Dao Pham Hoang Quyen emphasized that in recent years, thanks to traditional farming experience and the dynamism of the people, durian production in Song Hinh has had many positive changes. However, durian consumption is mainly through traders, without packaging or labels, leading to the product not creating an impression on the market and reducing the ability to promote local product brands. Therefore, building and registering for protection of the "Song Hinh Durian" certification mark is a necessary and strategic step. This is not only a tool to help affirm the quality and origin of the product, but also paves the way for market development, increasing farmers' income, and protecting the reputation of local specialty products.
