Scientific workshop "Research results and solutions for sustainable development of purple Ba Kich plant in Lai Chau"

On the afternoon of October 31, at the Hall of the Department of Science and Technology, the Center for Non-Timber Forest Products Research organized a workshop on "Research results and solutions for sustainable development of purple Morinda officinalis in Lai Chau" under the topic "Building a pilot model for purple Morinda officinalis (Morinda officinalis FSHow) in Lai Chau province.

Attending the workshop were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy Son - Vietnam Forestry Science and Technology Association; representatives of leaders of Departments and branches: Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Health, Agriculture and Environment, Cooperative Alliance, Provincial Farmers' Association; Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations; Leaders of Ban Bo Commune People's Committee, Le Loi Commune Economic Department and scientists from the Non-Timber Forest Products Research Center. Master Nguyen Minh Hieu - Director of the Department of Science and Technology - chaired the workshop.

Speaking at the workshop, Comrade Nguyen Minh Hieu - chair of the workshop: To evaluate the results of the research and exchange, discuss practical issues, solutions for developing purple Ba Kich tree in Lai Chau in the coming time. This is an opportunity for delegates, managers, scientists to exchange and share passionate, profound and accurate opinions. Each opinion expressed, each presentation at the workshop has high practical value, is a valuable source of material for the project implementation team to continue researching and perfecting the content of the project, meeting the requirements and tasks.

At the workshop, delegates heard three presentations: Vietnam's non-timber forest products sector associated with sustainable medicinal development;
The workshop listened to experts and managers discuss and exchange about: Techniques for planting and caring for purple Ba Kich plants; Techniques for selecting varieties, choosing Ba Kich varieties with conditions suitable for the local climate and soil, thereby proposing varieties and techniques to contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.
