More than 1,000 students are instructed on how to protect themselves.

On the morning of November 10, the Women's Union of Binh Hoa Ward (HCMC) coordinated with Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School to organize a talk show on "Preventing child sexual abuse and preventing human trafficking".

The program aims to contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of families, schools and the whole society in protecting, caring for and educating children, towards "building a safe and friendly environment for children".

Dr. Phan Thi Cam Giang, Head of Psychology, Saigon International University, the program's speaker, presented real-life situations to help students equip themselves with skills to prevent abuse, how to identify bad people, and prevent sexual abuse.

Dr. Phan Thi Cam Giang cited a number of school violence stories that have been making waves on social media in recent times. In one case, just because of a small conflict in the classroom, or "seeing something that is hateful", a student became the victim of teasing, even threats, and beatings by his classmates.

Or the heartbreaking stories of children being victims of abuse, sometimes the perpetrators are relatives, friends of the parents, or neighbors of the children. There are many cases of stepfathers and mothers' lovers abusing their wives' children.

From there, Dr. Phan Thi Cam Giang instructed more than 1,000 students on how to protect themselves when being taken advantage of by bad guys, in urgent situations; and at the same time pointed out some new methods and tricks of human trafficking criminals.

On this occasion, the Women's Union of Binh Hoa ward presented 60 gifts to students in difficult circumstances.
