1,114 women of Dong Ha city perform ao dai folk dance in response to Ao Dai Week
On the morning of March 3, at the square of the Quang Tri Province Cinema and Cultural Center (in Dong Ha City), the Dong Ha City Women's Union organized a folk dance and ao dai performance, with performances by 1,114 members of 9 wards and affiliated units.
The program on the occasion of the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day March 8 and the 1,984th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, aims to honor the value of Ao Dai, Vietnamese cultural heritage in social life, arousing pride and responsibility to preserve and promote Vietnamese cultural heritage in each female member and citizen.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Ha - President of the Women's Union of Dong Ha city - said the program gave a charity house worth 60 million VND, 20 bicycles, and 1,000 ao dai to disadvantaged women.

"The program brings love for the ao dai to Quang Tri women in general and Dong Ha women in particular. Loving the ao dai means loving the country and Vietnam more.
Besides, folk dance aims to encourage and develop the sports movement throughout the city, improve health, and contribute to building new-age Dong Ha women who are healthy, dynamic, creative, and care about the interests of the community," said Ms. Ha.
Participating in the Ao Dai performance, Luong Thi Dieu Ngan (resident of Ward 1, Dong Ha City) expressed her joy and that this was a memorable experience. "Through this, I want to show the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women. I am proud of the Ao Dai and will wear it on many more occasions," Ngan said.
In recent years, many clubs have been established with various types of folk dance, sports dance, health care, aerobics... attracting many women to participate, improving their health.
Many women and mothers actively participate in health training and this trend tends to spread in the community, contributing to a healthier society.
The program shows the image of healthy and dynamic women of Dong Ha city for society.
The performance features non-professional actors from around the city.
