More than 1,300 schools were handed over to commune-level management.

(Dan Tri) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to transfer more than 1,300 schools to the People's Committees at the commune level for management, requiring completion before July 1 and absolutely not allowing loss of records and assets.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has issued a decision to transfer the entire system of kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in the area from the district level to the People's Committees of communes and wards for management.

This adjustment is to conform to the two-level local government organization model, enhancing management efficiency at the grassroots level.

According to statistics, the whole province has 1,345 schools subject to handover, including: 476 kindergartens, 434 primary schools, 323 secondary schools, 23 inter-primary - secondary schools, 42 primary boarding schools for ethnic minorities, 33 secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities, 8 inter-level boarding schools for ethnic minorities and 6 secondary boarding schools for ethnic minorities.

These schools will be handed over to 130 newly established communes and wards and their boundaries will be adjusted according to regulations.

The Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to urgently coordinate with relevant agencies to fully hand over officials, employees, assets, land, finance, working equipment, and all records and documents of the schools to the People's Committees at the commune level to receive and manage.

Notably, the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the handover process must absolutely not allow loss of records and assets; and must not disrupt educational , teaching and learning activities.

Localities need to quickly stabilize the organization and clearly assign responsibilities to each department and individual in the process of receiving and operating the school system.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Finance and relevant departments, branches and sectors based on their functions and tasks to coordinate and guide the effective implementation of this decision.
