Steering Committee Meeting for 10th Grade Entrance Exam

Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training Nguyen Quoc Khanh reported on preparations for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

This year is the first time that secondary school students have taken the entrance exam according to the 2018 General Education Program to assess the level of students in the whole province according to the general level. The Department of Education and Training has advised the Provincial People's Committee to organize an entrance exam for 100% of grade 10 students in high schools in the province. The exam takes place over 2 days (June 3 and 4) and applies to both specialized schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities and public schools.

This year's exam has new points: The benchmark scores are announced at the same time as the exam scores. Candidates register for their specialized and first choices first; after the admission process, if the candidate is not admitted to their specialized or first choice, they will register for their second choice according to the local regulations on admission. The Department of Education and Training, as the standing agency of the Exam Steering Committee, has proactively developed an organization plan and synchronously prepared all stages to ensure that the exam takes place seriously, safely, in accordance with regulations, fairly and effectively...

The total enrollment target for the whole province is 19,490 candidates; the total number of candidates registering for the entrance exam is more than 21,600 candidates; the number of candidates registering for specialized high schools is 1,283 candidates. It is expected that 47 examination councils will be organized, including 4 combined examination councils, with 931 examination rooms.

After listening to the report of the representative of the Department of Education and Training on the preparation for the exam, along with the comments and discussions from the members of the steering committee, representatives of departments and branches, Vice Chairwoman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy highly appreciated the preparation work of the Department of Education and Training and emphasized: The entrance exam for grade 10 high school is an important educational event, having a great impact on students, parents and society. She requested that the media agencies increase propaganda, especially on the new points of the exam.
