(HNMO) - On the afternoon of June 9, in Hanoi, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a working session with the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) on issues related to the National Power System Dispatch Center (A0).

Previously, on June 6, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 517/CD-TTg on implementing solutions to ensure electricity supply in the dry season of 2023 and the coming time. In particular, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to urgently adjust the management and direction of the National Power System Dispatch Center to the Ministry of Industry and Trade according to the regulations of the Party and the State in June 2023 and study and implement appropriate and effective policies.

The leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade invited the leaders of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises to a meeting to discuss solutions to implement the directive.

Through the review of legal documents and regulations, according to reports from functional departments and offices at the meeting, leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises agreed to report to the Prime Minister on a number of contents:

In the immediate future, in order to strengthen state management activities, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigns the Electricity Regulatory Authority to supervise the operation of the electricity market and the national power system dispatching on a monthly, weekly and daily basis of A0 to ensure harmony, fairness, objectivity and impartiality among power generation, transmission and business units.

The units also requested the Prime Minister to issue a document directing the inter-ministerial and committee to re-evaluate the Electricity Sector Restructuring Project according to Decision 168/QD-TTg, including A0.

Also at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has resolutely and focused on implementing, so far 5/7 urgent tasks assigned by the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 517/CD-TTg have been completed, specifically: The Ministry has reviewed and carefully assessed the current electricity supply situation, especially the arising factors affecting the assurance of electricity supply to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, urgently guiding EVN to develop proactive scenarios to promptly respond to difficulties in electricity supply and organize implementation according to regulations. This content was completed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the afternoon of June 9, 1 day ahead of the assigned deadline.

Completed the Prime Minister's Directive on enhancing electricity saving in the period 2023 - 2025 and submitted it to the Prime Minister on the afternoon of June 8.

Complete the Prime Minister's Directive on ensuring electricity supply, coal and gas supply for electricity production in the coming time according to the Prime Minister's direction, report to the Prime Minister before June 15. Regarding this content, on the afternoon of June 8, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien signed the Submission attached to the draft Prime Minister's Directive on ensuring input fuel supply for electricity supply.

Research and guide the final handling of wind power and solar power projects that have been invested in and constructed but have not met the deadline for applying the FIT price mechanism (expired) according to authority... According to Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, this content was completed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade 4 months ago (from January 2023), and at the same time, the Ministry has issued many documents directing the resolution, so the Ministry of Industry and Trade has completed this content before the Prime Minister's directive document.

Reviewing the legal regulations on electricity to provide guidance on investing in the transmission grid according to the approved electricity development plan. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has assigned the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy to urgently complete this content in the next few days.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the establishment of a specialized inspection team according to regulations to inspect the management and supply of electricity of Vietnam Electricity Group. It is expected that on June 10, it will be deployed to EVN and related units.
