Than Vu 2 Bridge has a total length of nearly 1,300m, and is the longest overpass on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway. The bridge consists of 31 pillars, the highest of which is nearly 50m, and 2 abutments with 32 spans, 224 beams, each beam is 38m long.
Engineers and workers put up the last beam of Than Vu 2 overpass.
Than Vu 2 Bridge belongs to package XL02, with a total investment of up to 320 billion VND.
The Truong Son Corps started construction of the bridge in early 2022. At first, due to unfavorable weather, continuous rain, and support for local people in cutting down pine trees for land acquisition and clearance... the project started later than other projects on the route.
The bridge is located in a rugged terrain, steep mountains and forests, while the bridge piers are very high. In addition, the bridge construction process coincided with the time when raw materials and fuel prices skyrocketed, causing many difficulties for the contractor.
“With its brand and reputation, the unit has proactively made detailed, specific and realistic plans. At the same time, it has proactively managed work and financial resources to ensure supplies and materials to overcome all difficulties,” said Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Cong Thang - Commander of Than Vu 2 Bridge project, adding:
Based on the terrain, Enterprise 28.3, Truong Son Branch 28, Truong Son Construction Corporation organized a girder casting yard on the top of the hill and then launched the girders longitudinally in both directions, thereby speeding up the progress (Photo: Document).
To speed up the progress, during the construction process, the unit has also proactively proposed practical and effective construction solutions. Specifically, based on the construction terrain, the unit organized a girder casting yard on the top of a high hill, then proceeded to launch the longitudinal girders in both directions, combined with the horizontal thrust. Thanks to that, at the peak time, the unit can launch 5 spans in 1 month, and on average 3 spans/month.
According to Mr. Thang, the unit is currently mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to complete the concrete pouring of the bridge deck and railings by the end of March 2024.
By early April 2024, the bridge deck will be paved with concrete, and completed on April 20, 2024, 10 days ahead of schedule.
The project is implemented in the form of PPP, by a consortium of investors: Hoa Hiep Company Limited - CIENCO4 Group Joint Stock Company - Nui Hong Investment Company Limited - Truong Son Construction Corporation - VINA2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company; the project enterprise is Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company.
According to the Prime Minister 's direction, the section from the beginning of the route to National Highway 46B must be completed by April 30, 2024.
